Bio

Does our human relationship to nature always have a negative impact? Or can we collaborate with nature instead in an intimate, beneficial way through artistic practices? These are the questions Lilly aims to explore within her artworks by choosing mediums that are soft and delicate in nature, and require Lilly, as the artist, to have dialogue with the piece itself. She utilizes colored charcoal, graphite, oil pastels, watercolors, and inks on paper and canvas to highlight nature's dream-like whimsy when depicting animals, and/or flora and fauna. One of the most common subjects within her works are horses, portraying a "gentle-giant" theme, strength, and scale. This results in a deeply connective, and childlike wonder of nature not only between her and the piece, but with viewers as well.

Lilly has been recognized in national art shows, such as the Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale in Wyoming, but also within her university. She has won awards such as "Best Student Artist" at the Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale, received the Suzy Weinert Scholarship for Fine Arts at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and accomplished much more. She looks forward to continuing to strive for more opportunities and challenging contemporary art spaces.
